COOKS AND STEWARDS
Agreement For New Award
In the Conciliation Council at Wellington yesterday, a complete agreement was reached in the dispute of the New Zealand Cooks’ and Stewards’ Industrial Association of Workers and the Anchor Shipping and Foundry Co., Nelson, and other coastal shipping companies in the Northern Taranaki, Wellington, Nelson, Marlborough, Westland, Otago, and Southland districts. The Conciliation Commissioner, Mr, M. J. Reardon, presided. The coastal shipping companies were represented by Captain S, Holm and Mr, T. O. Bishop, and the workers by Messrs.. W. P. Walsh and W. A. Fox.
The agreement will go to the Court of Arbitration to be made into an award.
