WOMEN’S HOCKEY

College Old Girls’ Club There was a good .attendance of members and intending members at the annual meeting of the College Old Girls' Hockey Club last week. The annual report stated that the club had experienced one of the most outstanding years of its history. The senior team won the A division championship, while the junior team finished third in its grade. Tbe club did not meet witli success in the seven-a-side tournament on the King's Birthday, the senior team being defeated by Paraparaumu in the semi-final. However, in the five-a-side tournament, held at Paraparaumu, the club’s A team was successful. The visit by the teams to Masterton resulted in both winning their matches, the seniors against Kia Ora club for a cup which has been donated for annual competition between the two clubs, and the juniors against High School. During the past season Misses I. Pickering (captain), E. Cheyne, M. Clarke, 11. and I. Morris, and H. McLellan, were selected in the Wellington team which competed at the New Zealand tournament at Invercargill, while Misses W. McTigue, M. Smith, R. Walker and J. B. Yeatman were members of the B team which went to Otaki to play Horowhenua for the Baker Parata Memorial Cup. Miss D. Hatcher won a place in the junior team which played a combined Wairarapa team at Wellington. The club’s thanks are extended, to Airs. H. Hunter, who was instrumental in raising funds to assist in meeting the travelling expenses of members in the representative teams. Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Bock and Mr, J. Morris.
