Wellington Trading Quiet AN EASY TENDENCY There was little doing in the Wellington stock and share markets yesterday, trading being quiet and prices on the easy side. Government loans were dull and unchanged, no sales being recorded. Where were no quotations tor local Dod.y and company debentures. Banks showed a weak trend. New Zealand ordinaries sold at 43/6, but late buyers were offering ,43/-. Australasias were marked down to £9/15/- and B.b. and A.’e to £5/3/-. There- were sellers ot Commercial o£ Australia at 16/1 and buyers were offering £9/10/- for the preference issue. Dalgetys were done at ±8 10/6 for’ two lots. ■ Equitable. Buildings sold 3d. up at 12/6. Insurance shares were "easier. Nationals being quoted at' 17/2 and New Zealand* at 59/9. Little interest was shown in industrial and trading issues. Huddart Parker preference were firm at 28/6 and Wellington Woollen preference found no response at £5/11/-. Australian Glass weakened to 89/6, sellers 91/-. Colonial Sugars fell away to business at £45/17/6. Broken Hill Proprietary were done at 60/9. Other Australians, including metals companies, were easier. G." J. Coles were a shade better at 80/6, sellers 81/-. The Woolworths issues were inclined to be easier.
