RATEPAYERS APPROVE LOANS
Town Hall & Street Works For Westport By Telegraph—Press Association. Westport, March 22. Two loan proposals submitted to ratepayers to-day were carried. 'file first was for a new town hall, to cost £11,500, and the voting was: For 423, against 208, informal 19: majority for loan, 215. The other was for footpaths and street work, to cost £lO,OOO, and tjie voting was: For 517, against 118; majority for loan, 399. In congratulating the citizens on the result, of the poll the mayor, Mr. J. Kilkenny, praised Mr. 11. Morgan and Miss E. Morgan for their good citizenship in promising to donate an electric clock for the town hall at a cost of £l2OO. He also mentioned with pleasure the statement of the Hon. T. Armstrong concerning West port's strong claim for the establishment of “feel works.
