International League Final WIN FOR FORD MOTORS A large crowd assembled at the Miramar Polo Ground, Wellington, on Saturday to watch the final baseball game between Ford Motors and City Giants, lord Motors winning 21-13. In the first innings, Ford Motors batted Petherick out of the box and scored 6 runs. The Giants tried hard to catch up, but Wilson pitched well and Ford kept their lead throughout the contest. Excitement prevailed in the last innings when the Giants put on a great rail}’ and scored 7 runs, but the Ford lead was too great. Led by Wilson, the Ford team did some very hard hitting, Russell. Paul and McKay being outstanding. For the losers, Tristram pitched well after Petherick was lifted, but the Ford team was the better side and thoroughly deserved to win the championship of their league. Games for the Bristow Cup. The first round of the games for the Bristow Cup was played on Saturday. This is a knock-out competition on a handicap basis, and keen interest was displayed by the teams.
