Imperial Airways Handley Page Machines A record which can hardly have been equalled’ by any other single type of aeroplane is that of the Handley-Page H.P. 42 machines of Imperial Airways, which, collectively, have carried more than 250,000 passengers without injury of any sort to those passengers or the crew. The passenger who brought the total to 250.000 recently travelled to Paris in the Horatius, and with his fellow-passengers wa’s given a special lunch on board to celebrate the milestone. Of the original eight H.P. 42 planes, one was accidentally burnt in a hangar at Karachi. The other seven are still on regular flying work after five years’ service.
