Reorganisation Of Industry. “As I announced a short time ago.” said Mr. Sullivan, “the Government has decided to implement the industrial plan accepted by the retail pharmacists of New Zealand as an instrument for the reorganisation of their industry. This plan has necessitated attention by the Bureau of Industry over a lengthy period, during which time numerous discussions were held with representatives of various interests concerned with the retail pharmacy industry. The preparation of the plan was a very difficult task and the achievement by the Bureau of Industry in preparing a plan, which over 90 per cent, of the pharmacists of New Zealand accepted in its entirety, was a notable one. ■ “The stage has now been reached,” continued the Minister, “when the proposals in the plan are to be put into operation. Under the Industrial Efficiency Act provision is made for the appointment of industrial committees to administer industrial plans which have been accepted by the industries concerned. The Pharmacy Plan provided for the appointment of a committee consisting of seven members and constituted as follows: Three Government nomineers, two Pharmacy Board nominees, one United Friendly Societies’ Dispensaries’ nominee, and one employees’ nominee. Meeting To-morrow. . “It is provided that the four representatives of the industry must be members of the Pharmaceutical Society. At: my request steps were taken by the various organisations to give proper opportunity for the furnishing of a number of nominations which were placed before me for final choice.” Mr. Sullivan said that the initial meeting of the committee would be held In Wellington to-morrow, when consideration would be given to some urgent problems requiring immediate attention.

"I feel sure,” concluded Mr. Sullivan, “that wise administration of the plan will result in very widespread benefits not only to the retail pharmacists themselves, but to the community in general. The plan embodies principles which, when put into operation, will place the pharmacy industry of our Dominion on a more satisfactory basis than it has hitherto enjoyed. In my opinion the committee consists of persons who have the knowledge and capacity to achieve success in regard to the definite problems before it, and I have no doubt that success will attend its efforts.”
