RELIGIOUS SERVICES. LECTURE ON BIBLE TRUTH (God willing), T 0 O.F. HALL, ALLEN STREET, SUNDAY AT 7 P.M. Subject: “WHAT THE NATIONS ARE ARMING FOR.” THE COMING WORLD WAR, WHICH WILL BRING WITH IT THE LONG-FORETOLD PERSONAL RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST TO SET UP THE KINGDOM OF GOD ON EARTH. THE OBJECT of this lecture is to show that Bible prophecy clearly reveals that the present-day trend of world events is slowly, but surely, leading towards a crisis of unprecedented magnitude—a terrible world war, in the course of which an attempt will be made by a confederacy of European nations to wrest Palestine from the protecting hands of Great Britain; that, although Britain will suffer' defeat and actually lose Palestine anil Egypt, the victory of the invaders will be short-lived, for at this critical juncture in world affairs the Lord Jesus Christ returns to earth, and by a display of Almighty Power destroys the invaders and desecrators of the Holy Land. Hence wc read: . “I WILL GATHER ALL NATIONS AGAINST JERUSALEM TO BATTLE. AND THE CITY SHALL BE TAKEN . . . THEN SHALL THE LORD GO FORTH AND FIGHT AGAINST THOSE NATIONS AS WHEN HE FOUGHT IN THE DAY OF BATTLE.” (Zech. 14:2-3, see also Ezekiel, chap. 38, Eze. 39:1-16, Dan. 11:40-45, Dan. 12:1, Joel 3:1-2, Isa. 31:4-5, Isa. 17:12-14, Isa. 19:4 and 20, Jer. 30:4-7, Zech. 12:9-14, Matt. 24 :29-30, I Thess. 5 :3.) “YE, BRETHREN, ARE NOT IN DARKNESS, THAT THAT DAY SHOULD OVERTAKE YOU AS A THIEF.” (Paul—l Thess. 5:4.)
