“This is different from the usual case, of theft: it is more a case of foolishness, said Mr. J- H. Luxford, S.-M., when Dudley Ellis Archer,- mechanic, appeared before him in the Magistrates Court, Wellington, yesterday, on a charge of stealing a tyre and rim valued at £l/10/“, oronerty of Thomas Lindsay Ward. The evidence showed that the tyre and rim were taken from a car which defendant genuinely believed was abandoned.
