Following a lead of the New South Wales Red Cross, it was stated, steps were being taken to set up a "younger set,” in which a number of young people had already signified their keen interest. Tlie report from the Junior Red Cross allowed that the circles had embarked upon a wide and useful programme of social service activities. A successful harvest festival had been held at the 'Wellington Girls’ College, in conjunction with the Christian Students’ Union, at which a large quantity of foodstuffs had been collected and handed over to the society. At the request of the principal, a further class in first aid had been begun at the Rongotai College. During the month 1250 patrons at the Red Cross Cafeteria, Public Hospital, were served with refreshments. Donations received for this work amounted to £4/12/-. Numerous other donations in money and kind were acknowledged.
