CRICKET TESTS
M.C.C. Selectors Announced (Received March 9, 7.50 p.m.) London, March 9. The M.C.C. Test selectors for this season are Sir Pelham Warner (chairman) and Messrs. P. A. Perrin, A. B. Sellers, and M. J. Turnbull. The number has been increased to four for 1938 only. The Board of Control for Test matches at Home has recommended regarding the preparation ■of Test wickets that the custom of the county ground concerned should be observed. The board decided that professionals are’to be paid £5O, plus rail and hotel expenses, for each Test. The board approved the trying-out of the eight-ball over in 1939. Sir Stanley Jackson, who presided at the meeting of the Board of Control which appointed the selectors, disclosed that the captain of the team when chosen would be co-opted and have a casting vote.
