Prospective Legislation (From “Tile Dominion,” March 12, 1913.) His Majesty the King opened the British Parliament in State. The weather was rainy, but the procession from Buckingham Palace was watched by a large crowd. There was a brilliant spectacle in the House of Lords. The King entered the House wearing his crown for the first time since ins accession. The Queen wore a small diamond crown. The principal legislation to be considered during the session will be the Home Rule Bill and the Welsh Church Disestablishment Bill, and Bills to secure the completion of land purchase in Ireland, the national system of education, and the abolition of plural voting. Five suffragettes were arrested during the Royal progress through Whitehall. They attempted to force a passage and present a petition to the King. * » ♦ There has been a terrific dynamite explosion at Nobel’s works in Ayrshire. Six people were killed and seven seriously injured. Two are in a critical condition. A dozen villages were shaken and numbers of churches and houses were damaged. The explosion originated in a guncotton drying shed. A bluish flame leaped skyward, followed by a tremendous concussion, repeated four times us the guncotton in four buildings exploded. The brick buildings were instantly reduced to a heap of debris, and the air was thick with flying masonry, stones and glass, while dense smoke hung palllike over the scene.
