Gisborne Ewe Fair

At the fifth and final ewe fMr there was an entry of 5250, making a total lor the five fairs of 82,630. No outside buyers were present, and, following a decline of outside values, the same was expected here. However, the fear was not realised, local competition proving strong, and an excellent sale resulted, fully firm on the previous fair. Values realised were as follows:— Two-tooths, extra. 31/1; good, x.7/3 to 29/6: average lines, 23/- to -'V-i two and four-tooth, 25/-; four, six, and eighttooth, 22/6 to 27/3: mixed ages to fivevear, 1/1 to 22/3; five-year, best, 24/o to 25/2; others to 22/7; sjx-year and sound mouth. 16/- to 20/6; aged fattening ewes, good order, poor mouths. laJ/-.
