MORE MOA BONES DISCOVERED
“Strike” At Makirikiri By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, March 8. A fresh “strike” of mon bones has been discovered at .Makirikiri. near Wanganui, within a few yards of the mudhole whore bones have been recovered by the Wanganui museum authorities for several month's past. Through two small holes about 30in. by 20in. in the crust of the paddock poles have been put down 40ft. without striking bottom and within a few days more than 300 bones have been recovered. At a meeting of museum trustees to-day it was stated that every probe of the pole in the new locality seemed to strike a bone, and as moa skeletons are worth not less than £250 each there was some value in the discovery.
