Miss Beverley Wins Title

Sydney, March 9. To-day’s results in the junior tennis championships were as follows:— Girls’ singles, under 21, final: Miss M. Beverley (New Zealand) beat Miss J, Douthett (New Zealand), 6-2, 6-3. This was an excellent match, in which Miss Beverley played very well. Girls’ doubles, under 21, semi-final: Misses Beverley and Douthett (New Zealand) beat Misses Armstrong and Wilson (New Zealand), 8-6,.7-5. This match was splendidly contested right through, volleying and ground strokes being excellen.t Girls’ doubles, under 19: Miss Armstrong (New Zealand) and Miss Farrell (New South Wales) beat Misses Irwin and Kelso (New South Wales), 6-1, 8-6. The winning pair now enter the final. /
Girls’ doubles, under 17: Miss Hodges (New Zealand) and Miss Irwin (New South Wales) beat Misses Nowland and Tansey (New South Wales), 6-3.
