SURF CARNIVAL
New Zealanders’ Success At Coogee
Sydney, February 24. New Zealand was well represented at the Coogee surf carnival last night, and filled several places. In the international belt race, competing with picked beltmen from five Australian States, A. Dalton was placed third to F. Bennett (New South Wales) and Tom Boast (Queensland). In the first heat of the senior belt race, an open event, A. Stokes was third to Clem Walsh (Bondi) and L. McKay (Narrabeen). D. Symes started in a special first-class surf race, but was unplaced. The weather was warm and there was a large attendance. In the junior, surf race the New Zealander H. Goldsmith was third to A. Imrie (Queensland) and J. Yeomans (Bondi).
