At Petone. , As the result of southerlies. little rowing has been possible at Petone. On Sunday morning the regatta crews had an outing, but a southerly sprang up about 11 o’clock and' put an end to the day’s rowing. . P. A. Abbott will not be available to row at the Wellington regatta a<s he is on night shift. He intends, however, to start in the senior single sculls, for which he can practise in the daytime. His place in the five sent in the eight is to be filled by J. Howe, and in the No. 2 senior four by W. Lind. It is gratifying to see the number ot oarsmen going for a run each night and training in the clubhouse. Physical litness plays a great part in winning any race, and every crew should be in the pink of condition on the day. The champion four are back at the Rhed after a most enjoyable trip to tralia. They all look fit aiid well and should turn on a good exhibition at the Wellington regatta. The boat they purchased in Australia to use at the Gaine* is a good one, and the club is well patifltied with it.

The club eight will go out every evening at 7 o’clock, weather permitting, and, in the event of southerlies, will train in the clubhouse.
