Mannequin Parade For Plunket Funds Fashions for every hour of the day were effectively displayed yesterday afternoon, when a mannequin parade was held in the English-Speaking Union’s rooms, the proceeds to be devoted to the funds of the Hataitai branch of the Wellington Plunket Society; There was a large attendance, those present being charmed with the lovely gowns and attractive hats that were worn—and worn very well, too — by the mannequins, who were all wellknown Wellington girls.

All present were seated in the flowerbedecked room, and, to the announcing of Miss Phyllis Bates, who also described what' was being displayed, each mannequin walked among groups of admiring women. Sports suits, day frocks, hats, handbags, various accessories, and beautiful evening, gowns from overseas were shown in professional manner, ,the final group, a bride and her two attendant maids, evoking loud applause-.

Thdse who acted as mannequins were Miss June Reid, Miss Lorna Adams, Miss Nathalie Pollock, Miss Valeric Carr, Miss Anne Churchill, Miss Phyllis Fitzgerald, Miss Clare Mack, Mrs. Joyce Corleison, Miss Betty Bowling, Miss Florence Hislop. During the afternoon Miss Ngaire Ilighet was heard in pianoforte solos; Mrs. Joan Wood, accompanied by Mrs. Tottingham, and Miss Leslie Hill, accompanied by Mrs. Charles MacDonald, sang; and Mrs. George Castle gave elocutionary items. The parade was organised by Mrs. H. R. Baigent, who, with committee members, served a tempting afternoon tea, which was a delightful conclusion to a most entertaining hour or two. The committee ladies were Mrs. H. R. Biss, Mrs. H. M. Blakely, Mrs. Chesterman, Mrs. J. F. Wilson, Mrs. E. C. Heald, Mrs. R. Metcalfe, Mrs. Peterson.

Among the audience were Miss Elsmie Ward and Mrs. Chalmers of the central Plunket committee, Mrs. B. Sutherland, Mrs. R. McKay, Mrs S. E. Luke, Mrs. 11. R. Levick, Mrs. O. A. Ohlsson, Mrs. T.
