SPORTS MEETING
More than 400 entries —a record — have been received for the Wellington provincial track and field championship meeting, which is to be hoi dat the Basin Reserve on Saturday. Because of the large number of entries and the long programme of events, a start is to be made with the meeting at 11 a.m., and it is not expected that it will be completed until 5 p.nt. A number of the titles ate vacant this season, so that new champions-will have to be found. There is no lack of aspirants in most instances, and the battle between those competitors as well as the efforts of those defending titles should make for keen interest and provide some sterling contests. 1 ______
