HARBOUR BOARD’S REGRET

The Wellington Harbour Board at its meeting last night made sympathetic reference to the death of Mr. T. Lindsay Buick.,The chairman, Mr. D. J. McGowan, said when the board published its jubilee handbook in 1930, Mr. Buick wrote in a masterly manner the historical section “Wellington— The Growth of a Great Port.” In this and in many other ways Mr. Buick had, in recent years, close relationship with the Wellington Harbour Board. The following resolution was passed: —“That this board desires to place on record its sincere regret at the death of Mr. Lindsay Buick, one of New Zealand’s foremost historians, and the author of the Jubilee History of the Port of Wellington, and that the condolences of the board be conveyed to his widow and relatives.
