COMPENSATION AWARD
A claim for compensation arising out of injuries he received in an accident on the waterfront was brought by Horace Gilbert Ashenden,-waterside worker, .against the Wellington Harbour Board in the Court of Arbitration' yesterday. Mr. Justice O’Regan presided. Mr. F. IV. Ongley appeared for Ashenden and Mr. W. P. Shorland for the harbour board. ' On September 26, 1935, Ashenden was loading a lorry when some iron plates fell on to the back of his left heel. He received full compensation up to May 9, 1930. His claim yesterday was for compensation for partial temporary disability from May 8, 1930, to February 3, 1937. It was stated by Mr. Shetland that £25 had been paid into court as a fair and reasonable amount.
The court, after hearing evidence, awarded Ashenden £32/5/10 in addition to the compensation he has received.
