EMPIRE DAY
Royal Command Concert (British Official Wireless.) (Received February 18, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, February 17. Their Majesties will attend a concert on Empire Day at Royal Albert Hall, on the lines of that given by King George V’s Command in 1935. It is Their Majesties’ wish that the concert shall fulfil the same two objects as that of Jubilee Year —to exemplify and encourage the nation’s musicmaking at its best and to benefit musicians in need. It is hoped that it will be possible to include a small contingent representative of the Dominions in the concert, which will be broadcast to the Empire.
