This year’s light-weight woollen frocks at Agnes Samson’s are so attractive, with black the favourite colour. A charming black frock of the softest wool crepe is so smart with appliqued leaves of black patent leather in plastron effect, ami a black belt. The material from which a very striking frock is developed is knitted in narrow, wavy, ridgy stripes of bright red and black. The. frock is quite simple, with a smart black suede belt with touches of black patent. Over this is worn a redingote of the same striped woollen in self black. Another chic little frock is in petrel-blue woollen, made in jumper style. An attractive finish is the sunray quilting which outlines the yoke line and the pockets. One of the new very narrow belts in dull raspberry leather is a pleasant contrast. ■ Hats this season are very interesting. High crowns are a feature of many of them, but there is a great variety in berets, which are universally becoming. The new beret has great style. Many of them have a cleverly-contrived suggestion of height, but they fit the head snugly and are marvellous for windy weather. Agnes Samson, Lambton Quay.—Advt.
