Norseman Gold Profit After providing £9576 for depreciation, Norseman Gold Mines N.L. earned a net profit of £11q,717 in the year ended October 31, compared with £70,400 the previous year. Four dividends, each of 9d a share, required £60,000; £16,020 was transferred to reserve for taxation, and an accumulated profit of £66,594, has been carried forward. , Ore milled in the year totalled 86, short tons, and 111,362 short tons were cyanided for a return of 29,1210 z of gold, which, with silver produced, realised £258,520. Working costs amounted to_l9/a ton for ore extraction and 10/0.5 tor treatment, a total of 29/0.5 a ton. The gross proceeds represent an increase of £70.397 on those of the previous year Estimated ore reserves at October 31, including proved and partly proved ore, were: —Norseman, 204,000 tons; Iron King, 400,000 tons. The average grade of the Norseman reserves showed a slight fall on the year to 7.2dwt_. That of the Iron King mine was estimated as follows: —Proved ore. 80,000 tons, 3dwt; partly proved, 320,000 tons 2Jcwt. The company holds 130,000 shares in Norseman Developments N..L. The directors consider that in the interests, of both companies these should be retained for at least a further 12 months.
