RELIGIOUS SERVICES. LECTURE ON BIBLE TRUTH (God willing) J 0.0. F. HALL, ALLEN STREET, SUNDAY, at 7 P.M. Subject: “GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES” “. WHEREBY ARE GIVEN UNTO US EXCEEDING GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES THAT BY THESE YE MIGHT BE PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE.” (2 Peter 1:4.) The object of this lecture is to show that the Scriptures reveal that some of “the great and precious promises” referred to in the above quotation arc: (1) THE PROMISE that: Jesus Christ will return to the earth literally and in person. (John 14:3; Matt. 16:27; Acta 1:11; Acta 3:19-2.1; 1 Thess. 1 :10; Hobs. 9:28; Jas. 5:7-8.) (2) THE PROMISE that when Jesus Christ does return every existing system of bumau government will be abolished and a universal Divine system of Government (THE KINGDOM OF GOD) will be set up on earth. (2 Tim. 4:1; Matt. 6:10; Rev. 11:15; .Dan. 2:44; Dan. 7:1314; Acts 17:31; Zech. 14:9; Isa. 9:6-7; Isa. 33:22.) (3) THE PROMISE that the return of Christ and the establishment of rhe Kingdom of God on earth will banish every evil under the sun and will bring untold blessings to all families of the earth. (Pea. 67:4; Psa. 72; Isa. 2; Isa. 11; Isa. 24:23; Isa. 32:17; Isa. 33:6; Isa. 35:5-6; Isa. 65:17-25; Jer. 3:17; Jer. 23:5; Micah 4 :l-4 ; Hab. 2:14; Zeph. 3:9 ; Zech. 2:11 ; Gen. 22:18; Gals. 3:8.) (4) THE PROMISE that those who “receive the Kingdom of God as a little child,” i.e., have faith in “the great and precious promises” will, at Christ’s return, receive eternal life (i.e., become “partakers of the Divine '.nature”), inherit the Kingdom of God as Christ’s co-rulers, and then participate in all the blessings of the comin" Millennial reign of Christ upon earth (Hobs. 11:6; 1 Cor. 1:21; Roms. 1:16; Mark 16:15-16: Matt. 9.35; Luke 8:1; Mark 10:15; Rev. 20:6 ; Rev. 5:9-10; Rev. 2:26; 1 Cor. 15:50-54; Matt. 25:34; Matt. 13:43; Dan. 7:27; Roms. 2:7; 1 Cor. 2:9, etc.) “THERE SHALL COME IN THE LAST DAYS SCOFFERS . . .
