THEFT CHARGE AGAINST CRICKETERS

Two members of the Hutt Valley representative cricket team which travelled to Christchurch at the New Year appeared in the Magistrates’ Court, Wellington, yesterday, charged with the theft on the Rangatira of a uniform coat. They were Cornelius O’Halloran, carpenter, and William Calder Crisp, publisher’s assistant. Their case was dismissed by Mr. J. 11. Luxford, S.M., under the First Offenders Probation Act, after they had been stated to have “got into trouble by a drunken prank.” Accused,.who pleaded not guilty, were represented by Mr. 11. E. Tope.
