Barton —Price The riiarriage of Pamela Mary, daughter of Mrs. F. Wrey Nolan, Gisborne, and the late Mr. A. E. Price, Takapau, to Richard Wynne, eldest sou of the late Mrs. Barton, and of Mr. R. E. Barton, Gisborne, was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, Gisborne, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. R. C. Aires. Mr. Dyer was organist. The bride was escorted by her stepfather, and attended by her half-sister, Miss Penelope Nolan,-and Misses Joyce Nolan, Paddy Burke, Celia Reese (Christchurch) and Shona Williams. Mr. Patrick Barton attended as best man, and Messrs. T. Gadden, D. Reynolds, W. Mackenzie and Gordon Gregory were ushers. A. princess frock of pearl pink satin rich was worn by the bride, the bodice being ruched below the shoulders to give a soft cowled effect at the neck. Buttons and loops trimmed the back of the bodice, which joined the skirt in a point from which the train of the frock flared out in graceful fullness. Her veil of tulle, of the same soft shade as her frock, was arranged from a coronet of orange blossom, and her bouquet of pale pink roses had a long trail of roses. The frocks worn by the bridesmaids were of cream georgette mounted on pearl pink moire taffeta. The bodices, which had fully-puffed sleeves, and Vnecklines, were gathered into pintucked waistbands finished with buttons at the back, and the skirts were knife-pleated from the waists to the hems. Their coronets were of pink pearls, and their trailing bouquets were cojnposed of pink carnations. After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. F. Wrey Nolan entertained the guests at a reception held at their home, “Whareruhi,” Gisborne. Mrs. Nolan wore a handson\ frock of mushroom-brown georgette inset with godets of matching lace, and her smart brown straw hat was finished with flowers in front Miss H. Nolan wore a brown lace frock relieved with a corsage spray of pink flowers, and a brown hat. For travelling, the bride wore a pale blue crepe frock with a narrow panel of navy crepe inset from the neck to the hem in pointed design, and the brim of her navy straw hat was veiled with net. Air. and Mrs. Richard Barton will live at Waiau Station, Tokomaru Bay. Touring In The South Mr. J. R. Rooper, managing director of the Port Line, Ltd., London, and Mrs. Rooper, who have been the guests of Lady Kinsey, Christchurch, left during the week for Mount Cook, accompanied by Sir Cyril and Lady Ward and air. J. G. D. Ward. air. Ward will travel with them on a tour through the Southern Lakes district, to Invercargill. They will return to Christchurch on February 7, aud will leave for Wellington on February 10 to join the Port Jackson on their return trip to England. Novel Meeting A novel idea for a meeting was introduced by the Stokes Valley Women's Institute, which met. for the January’ business in the open-air at aioonshine. At the conclusion of the meeting members and their families held a picnic.
