Lord And Lady Strathspey's Only Son
A Press Association message from London announces the engagement of Alia, daughter of the late Mr. Francis Bowe, Tlmaru, New Zealand, and Mrs. Bowe, Eastbourne, England, to the Hon. Donald Patrick Trevor OgilvieGrant, only son of Lord and Lady Strathspey. Lord and Eady Strathspey and their son and daughter, lived in Wellington some years ago. Eketahuna W.D.F.U. o The Eketahuna branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union recently held a social afternoon in the Anglican Sunday School room. Miss A. Anderson, president, briefly welcomed members and friends and wished them all the compliments of the season. During the afternoon Mesdames Fox and Corny and the Misses N. Smith and Falkner sang several songs, Mrs. Gydo gave a musical monologue and recitations, and a most amusing playette, “The Unexpected Betrothal,” was acted by Misses M. and A. Anderson, p. Schultz, and Chambers. All these Items were thoroughly enjoyed. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Olivant’ and Miss Thompson. Miss D. E. Horton, M.A., lately on the staff of the Girls’ High School, Palmerston North, has been appointed additional teacher at the Matamata District High School in accordance with the school's rise In grade. Miss Horton has had previous secondary experience ab the Normal School, Christchurch, the District High School, Greytown, the Auckland Girls’ Grammar School, and the Auckland Technical School. Oh, and don’t forget! No, you certainly must not overlook that most delicious dessert—junket made with Birthday Renco, flavoured orange, lemon, raspberry, passion fruit, greengage, or vanilla.
