Junior Girls’ Team For Australia Mr. H. N. Burns, secretary of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, uas announced that Miss Joyce Douthett (Wellington), and Miss Margaret Beverley (Waikato), have been selected as two of the four junior girls to tour New South Wales. The other two players will be selected immediately after the New Zealand championships, which will commence at Auckland on Monday. The team, which will be managed by Mr. George Gore, a life-member of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association, will leave Auckland by the Awntea on February, and leave Sydney on the return trip on March 12. While in New South Wah.ts the team will compete in the New South Wales junior championships, which will be played in Sydney, commencing on February 26, and also in teams matches which will be arranged. New Zealand has also challenged in the European zone for the Davis Cip. Alan Stedman, and the two New Zealand players to accompany him (to be selected after the New Zealand championships), will leave New Zealand on February 26. Ranking Matches Postponed
Owing to the absence of numerous players at the New Zealand championships in Auckland, the Wellington L'lwu Tennis Association’s ranking matches, postponed from Sunday last, will not: be played on Sunday next. They arc now set down for Sunday. February 6. at 1.30 p.tn. ”
