EASTBOURNE FERRIES
Statement By Mayor Though personal opinions had been expressed at council meetings regarding the position of the ferries these were unofficial and the Question of scrapping the ferries and replacing them with buses had not yet been considered, stated the mayor, Air, E. AV. at last night s meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council. He felt the ratepayers should know that the opinions expressed at council meetings were personal and unofficial. The Hon. IV. Nash had been interested in the ferries position, having read of it in the Press. When approached, as member for the district, regarding other matters, he had asked the position and was given some facts. He then asked to be supplied with figures and these had been given him. That was all that had been done.
