TAKING OF LAND
Compensation Court Case SHANNON ST. PROPERTY The Chief Justice (Sir -Michael Myers) presided at a sitting of the Compensation Court at Wellington yesterday, when an action was begun by Harry Fitzherbert Lattey, retired indent agent, Wellington, who claimed from the Wellington City Corporation £2450 as compensation for loss arising out of the taking by GovernorGeneral’s proclamation on March 31, .1937, of claimant’s property in Shannon Street, which had lieen vested in the corporation. The sum of £2OOO was claimed as the value of the land and £450 for disturbance, removal and incidental expenses. Mr. J. M. Dale, assessor for the corporation, and Mr. H. E. Anderson, assesor for the claimant, sat with the Chief Justice. Claimant was represented by Mr. W. P. Pringle, with him Mr. R. Gilkison, and Mr. J. O’Shea, city solicitor, with him Mr. J. R. Marshall, appeared for the corporation. The case is proceeding.
