Gladiolus Championships j MIDSUMMER SHOW Gardens having suffered a setback from the storm at the beginning of the week, the midsummer show of the Karon Horticultural Society, held yesterday, was not as impressive as the displays ot flowers in that suburb usually are. The occurrence of the national show at Christchurch this week also distracted the attention of some prominent exhibitors. , ... The open gladiolus championship was won by G. Packwood, the amateur championship and championship of championships by L. A. Kenny, and the western suburbs championship by J. J.. " kitehead.
