It appears likely that the work of paving Waterloo Quay, which will provide the main entrance to Wellington when the new Thorndon traffic ramp is completed, will be carried out shortly. Although it has been recognised for some •time that the street would have to be repaved, some difficulty has been experienced by the city council in coming to an understanding with the Wellington Harbour Board, the owners of the land. It is understood, however, that the city council, the harbour board, and the Government, all of whom are concerned in the work, are attempting to Come to some agreement op the question, and their decision should be announced shortly. The new ramp is expected to be completed in Mav, and it is hoped to have both Waterloo Quay and Aotea Quay paved before they are brought into use.
