Negotiations are in progress for tiie acquisition at Hughenden Manor, Bucks, for many years the Imme of (lie Earl of Beaconsfield. It is hoped that it way be presented to (lie nation, thus ensuring tiie survival of a famous house and many ol| the relics it contains. There is a possibility that (lie manor, which lias changed little since Disraeli's time and Still contains his library and pictures, will become a national museum. Until recently tiie house was occupied by Major Coningsby Disraeli, nephew of Lord Beaconsfield. Since his deatli a year ago. Major Disraeli’s sister lias lived there. She left'the Manor toward the’end of last month. Disraeli originally paid £57,000 for the Ilnghendon estate. Twelve months ago Hughenden Park, the property surrounding the manor, was purchased by High Wycombe Borough Council as tiie town memorial to King George V.
