Paris, December 19. Mlle. Maryse Hilsz has left Istres for Basra in an attempt to beat the late Mrs. Amelia Earhart Putnam’s longdistance Hight record for women. In 1935 Mrs. Putnam made the first solo flight across the Pacific, from Honolulu to Oakland, a distance of 2408 miles, in 18hr. 17min.
