Two People Killed
Sydney, December 20.
During severe storms on the north coast two persons were killed by lightning. John Brewer, aged 29, a journalist, was playing cricket at Casino when a blinding flash struck him and two of his team-mates down. Brewer was killed outright and the others were stunned. Where Brewer had been standing a hole a foot deep and three feet long was cut in the ground. Ivy Nicholas, aged 13, was killed at Mnrwillumbah in remarkable circumstances while listening to the wireless.
