NEW OPERA HOUSE
“Hoity Toity” Revue
Connors and Paul''will present their Anglo-American Revue Co. in a brilliant musical comedy burlesque at the New Opera House for a limited season, commencing at the special price matinee on Boxing Day. The Sydney “Daily Telegraph," commenting on the initial performance, said : “Sydney has not had such a -feast of real vaudeville for a very long time, such as it bad at the Tivoli on Saturday night, when the ‘Hoity R p ' vue Company made its initial bow. The quality of the entertainment was seen in its reception by the packed house, which retained its enthusiasm through the long and varied programme; every artist was worth his or her place. The four K’s, four young ladies who played on various instruments — piano-accordions, saxophones, ’cello, violin and piano—were recalled again and again. The gems of their repertoire were undoubtedly ‘Hungarian Rhapsody’ and ‘Deep River.’ ’’ The company is well equipped with specialty acts, a lid the comedy side is in the capable hands of Syd Beck, who is no stranger to New Zealand audiences; be returns here after four years’ absence.
