Excess Water In Butter
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, December 20.
Judgment was given this afternoon in a case in which the Department of Health proceeded on two charges against the Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., of selling butter with added water. The magistrate, Mr. H. W. Bundle, said he was satisfied that the butter in the case had not been sufficiently tested by the manager and that sufficient precautions had not been taken to prevent excess of water.
The company was convicted and fined £5 with costs.
