Schedule For Christmas Crossings So great has been the increase in passenger Christmas bookings from AVellington to Nelson and Blenheim by air that Cook Strait Airways, Ltd., on a threeday schedule to Christmas Day, will make 30 crossings from Rongotai. Included in this schedule are 12 extra crossings to cope with the heavy traffic. On Thursday, December 23, 10 crossings will be mad_e from Rongotai, the first plane leaving at 7.45 a.m. for Nelson. Thereafter planes will depart at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m." for Blenheim; 12.15 p.m., for Nelson, via Blenheim; 2.30, 2.45, 3.50 and 4.5 p.m., for Blenhcimj 5.15 and 5.30 p.m., for Nelson. The 2.45 and 4.5 pm. planes for Blenheim, and the 5.30 p.m. one for Nelson, are thf extra flights. Thirteen crossings will be made from Rongotai on Friday, December 24. The first plane will leave at 7.45 a.m. for Nelson, and will bo followed at 9 and 11 a.m. by machines for Blenheim. Afternoon planes leave at 12.15 for Nelson, via Blenheim; 2.30, 3 U 3.30, 3.50, 4.20 and 4.50 for Blenheim. Planes leave nt 5.15, 5.45 and 6.15 p.m. for Nelson. The six extra machines on the service are the 3, 3.20, 4.20, 4.50, 5.45 and 6,15 deOn Christmas Day, December 25, seven machines will leave from Rongotai, the first at 7.45 a.m. for Nelson; 9. 9.15, 11,, 11.15 for Blenheim: 12.15 p.m., for Nelson, via Blenheim: and 12.30 p.m., for Nelson. The extra flights are being made at 9.15 and 11.15 a.m., and 12.30 p.m. All the machines are booked to capacity and it is believed that this year’s Christmas air traffic across Cook Strait will be a record.
