UNITED STATES ORDER
Twelve Steel Cargo Vessels Washington, December 16. The United States Maritime Commission has announced that it is asking for tenders for 12 steel cargo vessels for immediate construction. This is the largest peace-time order of merchant cargo tonnage ever placed in the United States. The vessels will he armed and easily adaptable to wartime purposes. _
