Hertford Shipment Sells At LONDON STOCKS SHORT Lamb market: Very firm with spot stocks still short. Old season’s exhausted. Small quantity of new season's, ex Hertford, selling at 9-}d. ex hooks. Mutton market: Wethers and ewes, firmer owing to smaller prospective supplies. Beef market: Frozen beef, steady trade at unchanged prices. Chilled beef, hindquarters shade firmer; fores unchanged. N.Z. porker pigs: Firmer ou the better consumption. N.Z. baconer pigs’: Shade firmer with stocks light. BUTTER AND CHEESE Smaller Shipments Last Month Shipments of butter last month were 9490 tons, compared with 12,020 tons for November, 1936, a decrease of 2530 tons. For the four months ended November 30 shipments totalled 46,432 tons, compared with 44,323 tons for the corresponding period of last year, an increase of 2109 tons. Australian shipments of butter to the United Kingdom last month were 10,439 tons, an increase of 3021 tona over those for November, 1936. For the_ four months shipments totalled 25,405 tons, compared with 22,975 tons for the corresponding period of last year, an increase of 2430 tons. Shipments of New Zealand cheese last month were 4864 tons, compared with 6589 tons in November, 1936, a decrease of 1725 tone. Shipments for the four months totalled 23,613 tons, as against 21,737 tons for the same period of last year, an increase of 1876 tons. Shipments of Australian cheese to Britain for the four months were 3234 tons, an increase of 1555 tons.' LONDON BUTTER MARKET Advance In New Zealand Salted By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New Zealand white 65/6 a cwt., coloured 65/-; Australian white and coloured 64/- and 63/-. The price of New Zealand salted butter shows an advance of 3/- a cwt. since the end of last week, when the quotation was 110/- to 111/-.
