i ATHLETES NOMINATED FOR EMPIRE GAMES TEAM. Some of the athletes who have been nominated for consideration by the Olympic and Empire Games Council for inclusion in the New Zealand Empire Games team. Their events are os follows: —
C. H. Matthews. One mile and three miles. V. P. Boot. 880 yards and one mile. S. A. Lay. Javelin. H. J. Tyrie, 440 yards. G. Quinn. 100 yards and 220 yards. T. Allen. One mile.
Miss B. Forbes. Women's high jump. Miss D. Lumley. Women's 100 yards and 220 yards. Miss Strachan. Women's broad jump and 100 yards. Miss R. Tong; 90 yards women's hurdles.
