CHRISTMAS PARTY
Crippled Children And Orphans Orphans and crippled children from all parts of Wellington, numbering about -150, were entertained yesterday at a picture party given by Mr. Alec Regan, manager of the Majestic Theatre, and members of the Rotary Club. More than 500 toys were distributed from a huge Christmas tree. Ice cream was donated by the Rotary Club; which also arranged transport. The toys were all brought in by members of the public in response to broadcast appeals. The whole film programme was donated by Mr. P. Maddock, general manager of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (N.Z.), Ltd., and buses were lent by the City Council to take children to and from the party. The president of the Rotary Club and Mr. Rogan thanked all those who had assisted and wished the children a happy Christmas. The staff of the theatre, traffic oflicers and ladies connected with the Rotary Club all helped with the party.
