Women Injured On Safety Zone
The intersection of Taranaki Street and Courtenay Place is noted for its strong winds. So strong was one gust yesterday afternoon, that it blew over one of the heavy posts marking the safety zone at the intersection, striking a pedestrian, Airs. AL Alullins, 11 Donald AlcLean Street. Airs. Alullins received slight concussion, but after treatment by the Free Ambulance, was able to return home.
L. Bary, carpenter, 31 Athens Street, received a severe compound fracture of the little finger of the left hand when he caught it in a circular saw at the new Government buildings yesterday afternoon. He was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. J. G. Alullins, carpenter, 7 Mana Street, also received injuries to a finger of his right hand when he caught it in a circular saw at the railway works at Davis Street. The Free Ambulance took him to hospital.
