FOXTON FOR FUN AND FROLIC
FOXTON is the seaside holiday resort of the Manawatu district. Every weekend hundreds of city dwellers make their way to the beach, where they are able to forget the worries of everyday business life and bask in the warm sun. Foxton is fortunate in having an excellent bathing beach and a safe river for swimmers, with a long estuary basin and a smooth three-mile tidal stretch. Campers will find Foxton much to their liking, for every inducement is held out to them. All conveniences are available, and there is a popular site at Victoria Park. Proof of the popularity of Foxton as a holiday resort is given by the fact that each year the camping grounds are booked at very early dates. Citizens of Foxton itself are progressively minded, and possess a civic pride which has done much to raise the borough to its present state of stability. The town weathered the depression bravely, and now business men are finding that their foresight and tenacity are reaping their rewards. The town is clean and attractive, and possesses up-to-date shops which cater for every demand.
