TENNIS TOUR OF N.Z.

A. C. Stedman’s Itinerary

A. 0. Stedman, who has been in England for the last few years, will arrive at Wellington on December 4. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association management committee has drawn up an itinerary for a /Zealand tour for him, and D. C. CoOmbe, and/or other leading players who may be available to play exhibition matches. Tbe~itinerary drawn, up is: Play at Whangarei, December 18: Hamilton, December 27j Christchurch, January 1, Dunedin, January 3; Invercargill, January 5; Timaru, January 8; Wellington, January 15; Palmerston North, 19: Wanganui, January 22; Napier, January 26;' New Zealand championships at Auckland., January 31 to February 5. In addition Stedman will be asked to play two exhibition matches in the Auckland sub-districts, to be nominated _ by the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association. If it can be arranged he will also be asked to give a demonstration to the juniors attending the junior championships at Christchurch. The terms of the exhibition matches are that the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association will pay the travelling expenses of Stedman and another player, plus 10/- a day allowance each player while away, from home. The local associations are to billet visiting players, and to pay the New pealand Lawn Tennis Association one-third of the gross gate receipts,_ less tax; all expenses other than travelling and allowance to be a charge against the local association. The Wellington Lawn Tennis Association has agreed to the terras so far as they affeet it.
