BUYERS FOR WOOL

Japan On Australian Market (Received November 2, 11.10 p.m.) Sydney, November 2. The president of the local Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Yamashita, announced to-day that Japan will enter the Australian wool market for substantial purchases before Christmas. The quantity and date of starting have not yet been decided, but in the meantime Japanese operators will buy between 300 and 500 bales daily. VALUES FIRM AT SYDNEY SALES (eceived November 2, 11,10 p.m.) Sydney, November 2. At the wool sales 12,505 bales were offered, and 11,030 sold, 1359 privately. The inauguration of the zone system at to-day's auctions brought the quota of attractive free wools into the catalogues, aud values for all better descriptions -were very firm. Yorkshire competed a little more widely on suitable lines. Greasy merino made 25Jd„ aud comeback to 25d.
