COMMUNITY SINGS
Total Yield For Season Community singing in the Wellington Towm Hall has concluded its season. The chairman (Mr. E. Palliser) of the committee which controls these entertainments in the interests of the Mayor’s Metropolitan Relief Fund, stated yesterday that the total cash result of the final night sing on Tuesday of last week was £6B/9/6. For the season a total sum of £416/16/- was realised. This sum is not so large as that realised last season, when the committee was favoured with the visits of several entertainers of outstanding ability and popularity, yet, for all that the effort is considered a creditable one, and the money received has served to bring a measure of comfort to those in distress in Wellington.
