The meteorological situation over the Dominion is still o “‘'^ tc s d cyclone. A depression is moving slowly across the Tasman Sea, but it has been losing intensity and is now only a shallow one. Light to moderate winds, at first variable, but north-easterly to.norther y soon predominating and gradually freshening about and south of Cook Strait. Seas slight to moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate to fresh north-east to northerly winds, with moderate seas, in the eastern Tasman Sea. ' . Weather still for the most part fair to fine; scattered rains developing, however, in western and southern portions of the South Island and gradually extending northward ove? districts with a westerly aspect.
