Rail Connection With
Tawa Flat
The question of a week-end railway connection between Khandallah and Tawa Flat was discussed at a recent meeting of the executive committee of the Khandallah Progress Association. It was agreed that the matter be held over until after the commencement of the electric service, when the demand for such a connection could be ascertained, and if it was warranted the matter could then be taken up with the Railway Department. . , , , , zt report was received from a deputation which waited on the General Manager of Railways to stress the need for the provision of a atop at the junction of Boxhill and Cockayne roads. The deputation was informed that the stop could not be provided for the opening of the electric service, but if after a fair trial of the new service it was found practicable and desirable a stop would be provided. . ,' ~ , n Advice was received from Mr. D. u. Lowry, M.P., that the Government had approved of a grant for the purchase of land for the provision of a school site in Cashmere Avenue, Khandallah. Satisfaction was expressed that the ’natter had reached finality, and it was decided to thank Mr. Lowry for his assistance.
